In his opening remarks, IPMA Chairman Kris Rianto Adidarma emphasized the importance of maintaining organizational continuity so that IPMA can continue to deliver greater value to its members and serve as a strategic partner to the government in supporting the growth of the national paint industry.
He also stated that strengthening organizational governance remains a key priority to ensure the long-term continuity of IPMA’s vision, mission, and work programs.
The meeting also served as an initial forum to discuss the association’s agenda ahead of the conclusion of the 2024–2026 management term. In this regard, IPMA will prepare for the election of its next Chairman and Executive Board, which is planned to take place at the end of 2026 in accordance with the association’s Articles of Association and Bylaws.
The leadership succession process is expected to be conducted transparently and democratically, while upholding a strong spirit of unity. The incoming management is expected to continue the strategic programs that have been developed and further strengthen IPMA’s role in supporting the advancement of Indonesia’s paint industry.

Standing Committee on Human Resources
The Standing Committee on Human Resources presented various competency-development opportunities available to member companies.
Throughout 2026, a number of seminars, workshops, and training programs are being organized by the Ministry of Industry and other government institutions. These programs cover topics such as Industry 4.0 transformation, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and production-efficiency improvements based on Kaizen principles.
IPMA encourages all member companies to make optimal use of these opportunities. Most of the programs are available free of charge, making them valuable opportunities for companies to improve their employees’ competencies while strengthening industry competitiveness.
In addition to encouraging members to participate in government programs, the Human Resources Committee continues to develop internal activities such as workshops, webinars, industrial benchmarking visits, and collaboration with educational institutions to establish a sustainable learning ecosystem.
Standing Committee on Standardization
The Standing Committee on Standardization presented updates regarding discussions on the implementation of national standards in the paint industry.
IPMA remains committed to improving the quality of national products through the appropriate implementation of standards and by providing input to the government during the policymaking process.
The meeting highlighted that paint products have highly diverse characteristics, including products manufactured according to specific customer requirements or customized products.
Therefore, IPMA continues to encourage the proportional implementation of standardization while taking into account product characteristics, production processes, and business requirements.
This approach is expected to maintain an appropriate balance between product-quality improvement, innovation, efficiency, and the competitiveness of the national industry.
Standing Committee on Education—Paint School
As part of IPMA’s commitment to developing human resources for the industry, the Paint School program remains one of the association’s key priorities.
Through its collaboration with SMA Mitra Industri MM2100, IPMA is working to create a learning process that is increasingly aligned with the needs of the industrial sector.
During the meeting, member companies were encouraged to actively support the development of Paint School by providing practical materials, laboratory equipment, and other forms of assistance that could enhance the quality of education.
Such support is expected to provide students with better practical experience and help them develop competencies that match industry requirements.
IPMA also encourages member companies to offer internship and industrial work-placement opportunities for students as part of an industry-based learning process.
The Standing Committee on Education continues to involve industry practitioners as guest instructors who can share their experience, knowledge, and insights into technological developments with students.
The participation of guest instructors will be aligned with ongoing curriculum improvements to ensure that educational materials remain relevant to developments and requirements within the paint industry.
Through collaboration between educational institutions and the business sector, IPMA hopes to produce graduates whose competencies meet industry needs. This will enable all member companies to benefit from the availability of skilled human resources who are ready to contribute to the advancement of Indonesia’s paint industry.
Standing Committee on Industry Development
The Standing Committee on Industry Development continues to strengthen IPMA’s role as a platform for sharing information, broadening industry knowledge, and expanding professional networks for all members.
In addition to monitoring regulatory developments and strategic industry issues, the committee also highlighted several events that member companies may use to expand their knowledge, develop partnerships, and follow technological developments in the coatings industry, including:

Through these events, IPMA encourages member companies to actively participate in order to obtain information about technological developments, product innovation, market trends, and opportunities to expand their networks with industry players, academics, and other stakeholders at both the national and international levels.
Standing Committee on Environmental Affairs
The Standing Committee on Environmental Affairs presented several environmental-policy developments that require the industry’s attention, particularly those related to the implementation of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).
Through consultation forums with the Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders, IPMA seeks to ensure that its member companies receive early information about regulatory developments. This will give companies sufficient time to make the necessary adjustments and prevent them from falling behind in regulatory implementation.
The Environmental Committee also encourages companies to improve compliance with environmental-management requirements as part of their efforts to strengthen corporate sustainability performance.
One of the objectives is for more member companies to achieve at least a Blue Rating under Indonesia’s Company Performance Rating Assessment Program, known as PROPER, by consistently complying with environmental requirements, including:
- Compliance with environmental documents and permits.
- Control of wastewater and emissions.
- Management of hazardous and toxic waste, as well as non-hazardous waste.
- Monitoring of environmental quality standards.
- Submission of reports in accordance with applicable regulations.
Looking ahead, the Environmental Committee also plans to organize a webinar on the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, featuring speakers from industry and professional backgrounds.
IPMA will also continue updating information on environmental regulations through the IPMA website so that members can access timely, accurate, and useful information.
Through these programs, IPMA aims to improve compliance with environmental regulations, encourage member companies to progress from a Blue to a Green PROPER Rating, strengthen collaboration among industry, government, and academia, and reinforce IPMA’s role as a facilitator of the transition toward a more sustainable industry.
IPMA Legal Affairs
In the area of legal affairs and organizational governance, it was reaffirmed that IPMA is an independent and neutral organization that serves as a platform for communication, collaboration, and information exchange among its members.
In fulfilling its role, IPMA consistently prioritizes constructive communication and consensus-building.
Should differences of opinion or issues arise involving members, IPMA may facilitate dialogue and mediation to maintain good relationships and create a healthy and conducive industrial environment.
In line with these principles, IPMA does not become involved in decisions concerning the commercial policies or business strategies of individual member companies.
IPMA’s role is focused on communicating regulatory developments, organizing seminars and workshops, and serving as a communication bridge between the business sector and the government in support of the growth of Indonesia’s paint industry.
IPMA Secretariat
On the same occasion, the IPMA Secretariat presented updates concerning organizational administration, membership management, activity coordination, and various services that continue to be improved in order to provide more effective support to all members.
The Secretariat also continues to strengthen organizational communication through the dissemination of event information, publication of regulatory developments, documentation of association activities, and management of communication channels.
These efforts are intended to ensure that all members receive timely, accurate, and useful information.
Closing
Through the 2026 National Coordination Meeting, IPMA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening organizational governance, improving human resource competencies, supporting the development of standardization that is aligned with industry needs, strengthening collaboration with educational institutions, promoting environmental compliance, and enhancing synergy among businesses, government, academia, and all relevant stakeholders.
As the current management term approaches its conclusion at the end of 2026, IPMA also invites all members to actively support the association’s leadership-succession process.
With a spirit of unity, collaboration, and professionalism, the next management team is expected to continue the strategic programs that have been established and lead IPMA toward becoming an even stronger organization that provides added value to all members and contributes to the development of an innovative, competitive, and sustainable Indonesian paint industry.
