IPMA AT INACOATING 2026: CONNECTING INDUSTRY, EDUCATION, AND THE NEXT GENERATION

The Indonesia Paint Manufacturers Association (IPMA), together with SMK Mitra Industri MM2100, participated in INACOATING 2026, held from 28 to 30 July 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, North Jakarta. Over the three-day event, IPMA board members and members, industry professionals, corporate partners, and representatives from the education sector came together in a spirit of fellowship, learning, and collaboration.

The IPMA booth served as an information and communication hub for board members, association members, company owners, next-generation business leaders, company representatives, HR professionals, associate members, and industry partners. Throughout the exhibition, visitors exchanged and discussed the latest organisational developments and updates from the paint and coatings industry.

During INACOATING 2026, the IPMA booth was staffed by Mr. Yoyok from the IPMA Environmental Committee and Jessica from the IPMA Secretariat. They welcomed visitors, provided information about the association, and supported effective communication and coordination throughout the event.

The programme began on 28 July 2026 with students from SMK Mitra Industri MM2100 attending the INACOATING 2026 opening ceremony. Afterwards, the students visited various exhibitors to learn more about paint manufacturers, raw material suppliers, equipment providers, and other companies supporting the coatings industry.

The visit provided the students with valuable first-hand learning experience. They gained broader insights into the industry, its products, technologies, raw materials, and the competencies required by companies. Their interactions with industry professionals also helped them build networks and strengthen their communication and public-speaking skills.

On the first day, the IPMA booth welcomed Mr. Yudirzal, a member of the IPMA Supervisory Board. Company owners, next-generation business leaders, and company representatives also visited the booth to connect with one another. These meetings provided an opportunity to exchange information and coordinate on the latest developments and updates within IPMA.

IPMA also expressed its appreciation to the friends of IPMA who provided refreshments and other support to the booth staff. Their thoughtful contributions helped keep the team motivated throughout the exhibition.

On the second day, 29 July 2026, students from SMK Mitra Industri MM2100 became even more actively involved. They introduced the school’s profile, educational programmes, and areas of expertise to visitors through direct presentations, guidance, and brochure distribution.

The students also continued visiting exhibition booths and engaging with paint manufacturers and raw material suppliers. In addition to expanding their industry knowledge, these activities helped build their confidence and improve their presentation and public-speaking skills.

On the same day, the IPMA booth welcomed Mr. Kris, Chairman of IPMA, and Mr. Adiwan, former Chairman of IPMA and a prominent figure in Indonesia’s coatings industry. Several company owners and HR professionals from IPMA member companies also attended to exchange updates, discuss industry developments, and strengthen relationships between IPMA and its member companies.

The final day, 30 July 2026, brought the entire programme to a warm and memorable close. The IPMA booth welcomed Mr. Markus Winarto, Secretary General of IPMA; Mr. Freddy Pangkey, Advisor to IPMA and Chairman of the IPMA Paint School Committee; and Mr. Stefano and his colleagues from PT Teko and Tinting Engineering.

Next-generation members of company founders’ families and IPMA associate members also visited the booth to connect with the association and receive updates on its activities and organisational developments. The presence of board members, association members, and partners on the final day further strengthened the sense of community and opened new opportunities for future collaboration.

One of the highlights of INACOATING 2026 was the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to IPMA. The certificate was presented by Ms. Relyana, representing GEM Indonesia, and received by Mr. Kris in his capacity as Chairman of IPMA.

The award recognised IPMA’s participation in and support for INACOATING 2026. The occasion also reflected the strong relationship and continuing synergy between IPMA and GEM Indonesia.

The participation of IPMA and SMK Mitra Industri MM2100 in INACOATING 2026 delivered a wide range of benefits. For IPMA, the event provided a platform to strengthen organisational communication, expand professional networks, reinforce relationships with members and partners, and bring together key stakeholders from across the paint and coatings industry.

For the students of SMK Mitra Industri MM2100, the exhibition offered industry knowledge and experience beyond the classroom. They were able to observe the latest product and technology developments, interact directly with industry professionals, introduce their school, and gain a better understanding of career opportunities and the competencies required in the workplace.

During the event, several companies expressed interest in establishing partnerships with SMK Mitra Industri MM2100. As a follow-up, the school will contact these companies to explore potential areas of collaboration.

Potential initiatives include industry visits, guest-teacher programmes, student internships, curriculum alignment with industry needs, student competency development, and graduate recruitment opportunities. IPMA welcomes these possibilities as part of its commitment to strengthening the connection between education and industry.

On behalf of the IPMA Board, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all board members, association members, company owners and representatives, HR professionals, associate members, industry partners, friends of IPMA, GEM Indonesia, SMK Mitra Industri MM2100, and everyone who visited and supported the IPMA booth throughout INACOATING 2026.

The three-day participation demonstrated that an exhibition is more than a place to showcase products and technologies. It can also serve as a bridge connecting associations, industry, and education. We hope the spirit of fellowship and collaboration established during the event will continue to grow and contribute to the advancement of Indonesia’s paint and coatings industry.

We look forward to welcoming you again at future IPMA and INACOATING events.

Together with IPMA, strengthening collaboration and advancing Indonesia’s paint and coatings industry.
